Barely made this show. My wife offered to park the car, and let me go in ahead to start taping, but leaving my wife to park the car somewhere in Inglewood alone, vs rolling a tape was not going to happen. Was parking the car, in a dirt lot, some distance to the Forum at 8:15pm. Almost left the gear in the car, but figured I might make it. Got inside and rigged up, with about 5 minutes to spare. So this is dedicated to my wife, who hates it when I tape, yet still offers her life for me to do it!

According to the incredible spreadsheet Scott Z compiled for us, the only version of this show posted to U2Torrents was by danafletcher, who said his version was a C, had cuts, etc. Scott's own list has the show from an unknown source and rated an 8.

This version is likely second generation (sorry, my notes are incomplete), and the sound quality is very good though the incredibly boisterous audience does overwhelm in several spots, especially at the start. In fact, the tape runs very hot as the crowd's zeal peaks to distortion on my copy though the actual music never distorts. When the yelling lessens, the underlying recording is quite appealing, clear and full. Samples provided.

I obtained these tapes in 1988. I wish I could tell you who recorded, what gear or even if this is the same source as Dana's or Scott's only closer to source. Perhaps someone can shed some light.

The performance is excellent and the set list topsy turvy (it opens like an UF tour show), which is probably the result of this being the third night of three in the Boston area.

From the same source I also received the previous night, 5/3/87, which I will post as well. A preview sample of that is provided, too.

Is a very good recording, but has some drop and interferences and contain some radio slogan in the whole concert, a lot of comments and talks by the radio DJs Juan Di Natale and Mario Pergolini(very fastiidious and irritating)
Just fade in / out was done in the recording for the tape change and edition for commercial pauses. 
in Nyd, Pride..., I still haven't found...., Where the streets... and Discotheque there are some interferences and distortions for bad radio signal
in I still haven't.... missing the introduction for Bono's speech
Last 3 minutes for Mothers was taped with some difficulties due a bad tape change and have a low level recording.

Show Notes:
First of two nights in Montreal, concert was a sell out with an enthusiastic audience. Standard setlist for previous shows on the tour and only slight changes with it being a Canadian performance.

Recording / Editing Notes:
Intro, Intermission and Interlude songs were split in to their own tracks. Any talking that occurred after a song was left tracked to that song, for the MacPhisto banter between "Desire" and "Acrobat" the majority was attached to "Desire". I edited the show to ensure each track started with that specific song. 

First part of the concert was loud and near clipping whereas later it was a bit more reasonable. I found Edge's guitar to be quiet live and it came across that way in the recording too.

Pimm has nothing to report about this concert...it does not show on Justin's list...achtungbootlegs.com lists it, quality "poor"...which is a very apt description...let's call this 2/5. 

The good news is that this is a complete version of what is probably a rare concert, but it is NOT pleasing to the ear...thus, counts as another for the completist will is so desperate to hear EVERYTHING, that they will even listen to THIS...someone like me.

A big big thank you to tynecastle, who has made cover art for us...none had previously existed...and he did a fantasic job, as usual.

The frequency analysis and spectral view are included in the torrent, but I have also posted both here...I believe the FA reflects this as having been recorded by a low end recorder, rather than being lossy...which I believe the spectral view bears out...and TLH calls it CDDA with 76% probability...however, if any sound engineers here strongly believe this is actually lossy, I will self-ban it.

Note: 
This was a special show in Nashville, where the band had not played since 1981. Especially cool was the appearance of "The Wanderer," with Bono doing his best Johnny Cash impression for most of it. The overwhelming highlight of the show, however, was the "Blind Guitar Player" that Bono pulled onstage after "Moment of Surrender." The man plays "All I Want Is You," dedicating it to his wife, Andrea. It was a very emotional moment and the utmost in cool. And, in a stunning bit of goodwill, Bono gave the man his guitar! I am sure everyone has seen the videos of this on Youtube so you know how special this was. The bass was kinda strong at the stadium. This is the raw recording, which is very similar in sound to the Miami show.

First set we were in our seats: 4th row way to the right. I couldn't hear the guitar that well, so we moved to the center of the theater for set 2. 

A very good tribute act that was pretty convincingly like U2. They even looked a lot like U2 (except for the black guy on bass). This made up for the lackluster performance I saw from U2 at the stadium last summer. At least this band plays stuff in the right key. The singer even pulled a vintage Bono move and ran out in the audience during Bad, then up into the balcony to sing with the crowd. He schmoozed with the women up front, and during Mysterious Ways they brought a woman up on stage to dance and she really owned it. Danced all over the stage. They even did several of those references to other songs/cover songs at the ends of songs like U2 does.

My only criticism is the singer has a voice like younger Bono, Unforgettable Fire era, but he sings the stuff with all the modfern shortcuts Bono does to make up for his deteriorating voice. I'd prefer the older songs to be done like they were in the day.
